Growing up in Arkansas, I developed an interest in art as a child. I took as many art classes in college as my education major in Home Economics education allowed time for, but never considered my ability to earn a living in the art arena a possibility, even though that’s where my heart was. I always hoped to pursue art after I retired from teaching. Thankfully, I have been blessed with the time to do that now and find much joy in all forms of art and in the association with other artists.

Although I began painting in oils and acrylics, I fell in love with watercolor when I took a beginners class several years ago. I also enjoy pastels, especially when doing studies of children. Though these are favorite mediums I find pleasure in experimenting with others.

The natural setting of the Ozarks where I live in Cherokee Village provides wonderful subject matter for landscapes and florals.

My work has won several awards in area competitions and can be found in a number of private collections across the country.
